Default AQ 2/4

I'm pretty new to limit, so sorry if this is overly basic. This hand is so simple I'm not even going to bother with the converter. Am I doing something wrong here?

2/4 Stars 10-Handed. I have AQo in MP2.

MP1 (18/9) open raises, I 3-bet, he calls.

Flop: AJ5r

MP1 Bets, I raise, MP1 3-bets, I call.

Turn and river are both rags. No flush possible. He bets each street, I call down.

Preflop I'm not sure - opponent dependent on that 3-bet
I like going into call down mode here on the flop. It usually lets you lose the min when you're behind and make the max when ahead.

You're far behind too many raising hands
- 1 combo of AA - unlikely but he might be playing it weird
by not capping
- 8 combos of AK
- 6 combos of AJ
- 3 combos of JJ
you're only ahead of the following hands that may just be making a probe bet on the flop that they won't follow through with

- 6 combos of KK - unlikely given no cap
- 3 combos of QQ
- 6 combos of TT
- 8 combos of AT
he may be probing that flop with KK or QQ and calling down allows you to make the max because he might fold to that flop raise or a turn bet
and he'll be betting raising with the 16 combos of hands that beat you. I think you're too far behind his range of hands to raise that flop especially since he may stay agressive with QQ or AT if you don't raise allowing you to make more.

Good analysis, thanks. You had an oversight in there though.

Fold the flop. One rule I always try to remember when playing Hold 'em is that you need a better hand to call a raise (or re-raise someone) than you need to make the first raise.

You should call the flop even if you know villain has AK or AJ.Taking a line including folding on this flop sucks, i like the line hero took.

There is absolutely no way that you can 3 bet pf, hit your hand, and fold for one flop bet.

That 3-bet doesn't make me happy. I think I fold the turn UI. Given the PF 3-bet and the flop raise, I don't think he's still pushing KK here. I'd say AK or AJ is way too likely.
