Default Not maximizing?

Villain is 34/20/2.2/41 WTSD over 88 hands

I feel like I'm letting him off the hook too easy here.

Why this board? I'd think a board like AJ5 would make more sense because there are more gutshots / middle pairs that will pay off.

hmm yeah i guess you are right, at first i thought charge a potential flush draw, but thats less likely cuz he 3bet, i suppose a medium/small pair, or kq is more likely to bet the turn again

I play this so different to most.

After I get 3 bet preflop, I check/call all the way down.

You can always lead the river and fold to a raise.

Yeah folding anywhere in this hand is really bad, IMO.

If he raises you on the river, you are beat.

I'm not saying I play it that way anyway. I just call down all the way.

i've been doing a lot of work on lines out of the blinds so this is a question i've personally been struggling with lately. your board is about as dangerous as this one which people seemed to think was scary enough to check/raise the flop and go from there. the conclusion seems to be that we need to check/raise the turn at the very latest. the secondary conclusion is that i was nuts to wait until the river to spring the trap - point being that the longer we wait, the greater the risk that we'll end up losing having done nothing to protect our hand/get value.
