TT overpair---Trapped OOP! Help! PP 11$
First hand of SNG everyone has 800
UTG limps for 15, I limp UTG + 1 with TT, CO minraises to 30, blinds fold, UTG calls, I call. Pot 105 Flop: 9 7 4 rainbow. UTG checks, Hero bets 90, CO calls, UTG folds. Pot 285 Turn: 9 7 4 2, completes rainbow Hero bets 240. CO calls. Hmmm Pot 765 River 9 7 4 2 4 Hero has last 440 in his stack and… My thinking was on the flop that because he just called it looked like an AK or AQ, possibly 88 thinking I was full of it. The turn, I was pretty sure he would fold to a bet with anything that I beat, so it was a protective bet. On the river, should I try to induce a bluff by checking, or just shove for a little more than half-pot, knowing that a worse hand really does not call? Also, anyway to play this hand and not get in such a tough spot with TT OOP. TY in advance. |

Put the rest of your chips in here. He will call you with tons of hands you beat A9/K9/A7/97 and AK sometimes. If this is one time that he had 99/77/44 then just load up another SNG.

Villain could hold anything from AT to pp. What would you have called that turn bet with? Not a draw...

Check fold the river because if your TT was good there's no way you'd post this. Seriously though push the river.

Re: TT overpair---Trapped OOP! Help! PP 11$
I've just started SnG's at Stars so i may be off with this but my feeling is you should have raised PF and cannot get away from it given the flop and action.
That stacks are way to shallow to justify a reason to escape a PP that's facing all un-coordinated undercards. I don't see how this is anything but standard. Please correct me if i'm suggesting too much aggression. As far as the river, i think that i'll check/call 30% of the time and push the other 70. |

[/ QUOTE ] I was getting in a lot of trouble consistently raising TT from early. This is from LOTS of cash game and early blind level SNG/MTT action. This was one of those hands where I really felt like my opponent was calling me down with a better hand, and I felt like I may have misplayed it. Anyway, the stacks weren't THAT shallow. 53.33 big blinds in my mind could be too much to be losing against a guy who raised preflop. Does anybody check this flop and see what the pfr does? |
