Pittsburgh (-3) @ Carolina
I took Pittsburgh earlier this week - figuring this would be a great line if Weinke had to start again. Now Weinke's 100% the starter and the line hasn't moved much - so it was likely already priced in at -3.
What am I missing? Carolina isn't special at home this year (just 4-3). Weinke is starting, he's awful. Carolina didn't stop the run very well last week - and Willie Parker should be even tougher. Hines Ward is also returning this week. My only concern is a depleted Pittsburgh secondary and Steve Smith running through it. I see Pittsburgh winning this by 14. |

I don't know what's wrong with people. Carolina sucks and Pittsburgh doesn't. Easy money.

Re: Pittsburgh (-3) @ Carolina
From what I've seen it's been 2.5 at Pinny all week so I don't know why you'd take -3.
I like Pitt as a small play - they're a turnover prone team playing on the road vs. a good pass-rush so I wouldn't be shocked to see them give the game away. Taking +3.5 with the Jets as another small play for the same "mediocre AFC teams usually beat mediocre NFC teams" logic. |

Re: Pittsburgh (-3) @ Carolina
Pittsburgh has won just 1 game on the road, and Carolina's CBs are healthy this week. If Carolina can run the ball then it's not such an easy game for Pittsburgh.

The Charlotte Observer reports they both practiced.

[/ QUOTE ] Chris Gamble playing would be more reason to take Pittsburgh. Also, Foster is healthy and Henning refuses to give Williams any touches, so Carolina won't run the ball. |

Re: Pittsburgh (-3) @ Carolina
dkgojackets, are you trying to say that an undrafted rookie is more suited to play than Gamble? I'm not sure where you're going with that.
Carolina must establish the running game. Last week against the Giants further exposed this harsh reality. With healthy CBs Carolina isn't likely to get down big early, allowing them to stick to the running game longer. |
