Default Common reasons NOT to cbet....

Hi friends,

I know this topic has been brought up a lot of times and some of you are tired of seeing it, but I was suprised to notice that there is not a good comprehensive guide to c-betting in the master sticky. I was so inspired by the following statement by Pokey in one of the posts:

"You need a reason NOT to c-bet, not a reason TO c-bet"

And then so disappointed to not be able to find a comprehensive (or at least extensive) list of common situations when NOT to c-bet. So, in you opinion:

A good situation NOT to c-bet is...

Please complete the sentence above with some of the most common situations when you hesitate to cvbet and help me understand this concept better. Thank you in advance.

No better hands fold and no worse hands call.

What about if its was only 2 other people (unknowns) and you? Cbet then? Or is 4 people (incl. you) the cut-off?

Never c-bet into 3 or more ppl, c-bet considerably less into 2.

Don't C-bet into a coordinated board, particularly when you are out of position.

E.g., we open for a raise with A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG+2. The button and the cut-off call.

Flop is 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] .

If we bet the size of the pot or less, it's very likely that we will be called. Our opponent might believe the story we are telling but call anyway.

Occasionally we can bet three times and get a fold on the river, but this is a much better plan when there aren't multiple draws possible and when we have position.

Also if you out of possition and one of the two players remaining to act look like they would have highly hit the flop
EX: you have JJ and flop is AK3...

If its only one person I CB 99% of the time
