iTunes... wtf?

Alright, so I have 8700 songs on my itunes, most of which I never listen to because I have nothing but full albums.
But whenever I turn it on shuffle it plays nothing but hella good hits, wtf?

Even though I have thousands of songs ripped from other friends and albums I have listened to in years... sometimes ITUNES just takes over and wants to rock

Are you using party shuffle?

You should be able to change the way the shuffle picks songs. You can set it to pick songs that have a higher rating, are played more often etc. etc.

I'm getting an iTunes update something like every 2-3 weeks. Pretty soon I'm expecting the thing to just take over completely and TELL me what to listen to.

Do you use the ratings? I think there's a setting in the preferences that gives weight to higher rated songs when shuffle is turned on.

I don't use ratings. By virtue of me taking the time to put it on iTunes/iPod, it means I like the song.
