AA, zomg why do both they keep calling?!
Full tilt 75 buy in 18k guarantee. Blinds 25/50. I just took over for my friend who was covering the tournament while i was having breakfeast (yea i know what time it is, shut up) so no reads but the competition in these tend to be fairly weak overall. Stacks:
Me: 3500 Hijack: 3000 BB: 4000 Im in MP with AA. Preflop: Folds to me, i raise to 150, hijack calls, folds to BB, BB calls. Flop: Q 8 7 rainbow (475 pot) BB checks, i bet 300, hijack calls, BB calls. Turn: 4 complete rainbow board (1375 pot) BB checks, hero bets 700, hijack calls, BB calls. River: 2 (3475 pot) ZOMG!!! Why are they both calling me?! What the hell is going on. Do i bet this? If so how much? Turn/river were TOTALLY harmless and if BB has a set/two pair i feel like he raises turn. WTF is button doing? Your play? |

Shove. The pot is bigger than your stack, and either you are beat or you are doubling up. If they call with only top pair, they were donking anyway.

Re: AA, zomg why do both they keep calling?!
I think I push. Push>>>>check-calling because button is never ever bluffing if you check (and bb almost never has you beat so there's no added benefit when button checks through). Check-fold might be ok, but I can't see myself actually doing that so I push.

Definitely moving in on the river. You're either beat by a slowplayed set or some dummy is check-calling to showdown with a hand like AQ or KQ.

Chuck it all in there, I think if you were behind to a hand like 56, a set, etc you'd have heard from now? FTP players suck, I wouldn't be surprised to see QT and QJ here.

Re: AA, zomg why do both they keep calling?!
Played a hand almost identical to this a couple nights ago on FTP. The only difference was there was a K onboard instead of a Q. I pushed the river and both villains called turning up KJ and KT, neither of which beat my AA. So I tripled up.
I agree that sometimes you might get stacked here but the vast majority of the time on FTP these guys just have top pair. |

Push the river btw I think you should be betting closer to pot on the flop and turn.

Re: AA, zomg why do both they keep calling?!
I can see either of them with 56. I think you're probably up against KQ/QJ from at least one of them. I think BB would be more likely than button to have 56 and would lead river, the only 2 pair they could really have is 78, and as you said woudl probably raise turn.
I think you have definite value in a river bet, and if you bet it's a push, they will "put you on AK" often enough to call with a Q, and you don't have enough to bet/fold. |
