They could have picked DUKE with HER shirt off. gotta look at the bright side.

Thanks for that image.

The worst part of the commercial is the lines: "And I'm alllllll in!" I've seen 80's porn with better scripts.

As a former writer of 80's porn scripts, I totally agree with you.

this thread is worthless without pics.

seriously though, it continually baffles me that UB has such low traffic when they have fast (albiet somewhat unreliable) software, rakeback, were the first to have 25/50 iirc, and one of the most well known poker players in the world on their label.

what gives?

[/ QUOTE ]

I've always found their software to be a bit cumbersome.

Bad choice of pros. They all have their heads up their arses. Absolute have made much better choices with Grinder, Mark Seif and Lacey Jones all really nice people.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think the niceness of the pros has anything to do with AP's success.
They're reasonably well-known, but I don't think Seif or even Grinder are nearly on the same level of mass recognition as Hellmuth and Duke or even Esfandiari.

I think it's a matter of, "How has UB NOT been able to be more successful when you've got two of the biggest names imo (Hellmuth and Duke) associated with your site?"

Then again, I don't think that Doyle's Room is exactly packing them in.
And I have no idea what ChanPoker.net is up to.

So having a big name or three with you site isn't necessarily enough.
Has to actually be promoted decently as well (Stars and FT good examples imo).

UB's Antonio-porno effort was somewhat lacking by comparison.
