I still don't see how this equates to 'doing a lot for poker'. Even if his primary motivation for writing the book was for the good of the poker community, for all the players it helped, it hurt a number of players equally.

Even if, overall, it didn't help the "poker community", it helped the people that read this site.

Poker being a zero-sum game (neglecting the rake), somebody is paying for the gains of those who read the book.
