Default K8s is the nuts

4 handed $30 game on Stars and I have no idea who the villain is. I just sat down. He opens in the SB and I decide to 3 bet K8s. This is by no means a normal play to me but definitely a sometimes. He calls.

AK4 rainbow flop and he check/calls.

Q on the turn and he check/calls.

River is a deuce and he checks. Should I bet here hoping to get a call from QT, QJ, other pairs, etc? Or should I check figuring I'm behind to a weak ace or a better K.

Obviously if I knew the opponent more I'd be able to make a better decision. Ie. if he's aggressive and showdown happy I can bet for value or I can check if he's the kind of passive player to never send in a bet with a weak A. I guess my question has a lot to do with what kind of player is our average stars mid limit guy these days.

I bet and he called. Was it a good one?

I think the average guy is going to have you beat here so I'd check. No evidence for that.

i think that i would check behind on the river...i think you will see A3 or KT mor often than a Q or pocket pair because this is a pretty scary board for someone that doesn't have a decent piece of it...

This may be a spot where I instinctively check the turn to induce a river bluff from a worse hand but still get to SD for 1BB when he has a better hand. But if everyone likes the turn bet, maybe I should reconsider.

i always knew you were three betting me with K8s all these hands... haha no but seriously, i like a check against most people, depends how the game is going, tilt? etc i doubt you will see A3 here very often but KJ KT are more likely

between betting/checking it is probably close to even EV id say?

I'm with PJ on this one, I'd check the turn. I think that plan works well, I hate gatting c/r on the A. As played check the river, I feel if you called you will not win the 55%+ amount of the time. Hahaha "TOP" reference.

Also, what the hell is with PJ doing one orbit hit and runs at Stars??

Who, me? I don't even have any money on Stars and I've never played LHE there.
