That is what I was saying - the people with rakeback get a poorer deal. They actually pay extra because they will pay in rake.

I'm not complaining at all. Just looking at the big picture.

[/ QUOTE ]

Then you are looking at the big picture wrong.

2 players.
Player A has rakeback
Player B has no rakeback

Both players pay rake.
Player A gets part of his rakeback.

Both accumulate points at the same rate. Both earn points to buy merchandise. Both spend points (same amount of points each) and buy same merchandise. Player A loses part or all of his rake back.

Question. How can this be worse for Player A when looking at the "big picture"

Answer. It is obviously not worse for player A

i think the big picture would include looking at all those months when you received X dollars in rb that the other person did not. So, you accumulate 10k in rakeback a year, and get a pimp tv. they just get a pimp tv. You sure are getting ripped off, mang.

also, fwiw, ive heard that its up to the individual affiliate to decide if the mgr deduction carries over, since ft actually charges the affiliate for these types of things. The best thing to do would be to email your affiliate for the answer, though i believe there have been a couple of threads in the rakeback/affiliate forum about this exact subject.

I love these morons who don't understand how having rakeback is better.

Guy goes into Best Buy to pick up a TV, Salesman says, "OK so I can either give you this Plasma TV for FREE, or I can give you $5000 and then you can buy the TV for $500"

I'LL TAKE THE FREE TV! IT'S FREE AND THE OTHER ONE COSTS $500!

Idiots.

as i understand it, negative balances don't carry over

I have heard this too. Does that mean if you buy something big with points on the 1st, then play on other sites for the rest of the month, then come back on the 1st of the following month you will essentially get the item for free (instead of for 73% off)? A cursory look at your play history will make what you did obvious but does the site care?

[/ QUOTE ]

Not unless you get rake back at the other sites.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, obviously I was assuming a comparable earn at the other sites (including rakeback). It won't do you any good to play elsewhere in games you can't beat, either, no matter how much RB you are receiving.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well then you know the answer to your own question.

[/ QUOTE ]

I was just looking for clarification that, yes, this is the way things are. If, however, it will be noticed that you are doing this and you ought to put in some cover play on the month you made the big points cashi-in, I hoped somebody would say that. If the site doesn't care, great.

I do not think they would care. You payed your rake and earned your points. It would be no different then someone without rake back spending their points.

So basically we're getting ripped off!

the people that do not have rakeback are the ones getting ripped off.

OK - I worked it out and yes - that extra is getting paid for each shirt at some point.

rakeback players get it taken away from their rake. Non-rakeback players get it taken away buy having to pay FULL rake.

Sorry. had to have it rattle around in my brain a little.

Perfect analogy. Getting stuff deducted from your MGR makes it appear you're getting shafted - but we're all paying the same rake.
