Re: Beat: watched the Cincinnati Kid over the weekend.

[ QUOTE ] Beat: I'd put a *spoiler* in the title. [censored]. [/ QUOTE ] Seriously. Thanks for ruining the movie, [censored]. [/ QUOTE ] How can that possibly ruin the movie for you? I haven't watched it. I want to. And I couldn't care less if he wins or loses the final hand. That has nothing to do with it being a good or bad poker movie. Nothing. |

I don't see how anyone back in those days couldn't have claimed he was cheated after that cooler on the last hand

Re: Beat: watched the Cincinnati Kid over the weekend.
I knew ahead of time that he lost the hand. I saw it referred to in several gambling articles years before I ever saw it. Nevertheless, I found the movie to be marvelous. The characters are all interesting and colorful. I've seen it 4 or 5 times now and I rarely see a movie more than once.

Re: Beat: watched the Cincinnati Kid over the weekend.
i like how they clearly state string bets are not allowed, but like someone else said, they happen ALL THE TIME throughout the session
also hilarious is the fat guy who folds getting like 8-1 on his two pair or whatever, in 5 card stud that is not smart! jeez |
