Johnson Out Tonight

Denver line started at -4.5 or so and has been rising all day on rumors that he'd be out again. It's pretty much official now that he won't be back until at least tomorrow. Without Johnson, the Hawks are just a bad team. Just wanted to give people a heads up before the line hits 7 or 8.

Thats alot of points for a road team to lay, even without the home teams best player. I see DEN winning, its ATLs first game back from a bad road trip, but I am leaning towards the ML. JJ out makes me feel better paying the higher line.

Interesting that you'd lay off the spread. I've been hearing that number will shoot up to close to 8 by gametime once the news starts circulating. We saw how bad they were against Sac the other night without JJ. Definitely makes me slightly worried that I laid a bunch of units on Denver at -5 and -5.5 to see you iffy about it. I don't normally bet more than 1 unit on any particular NBA game but I saw this as a very good spot.

Forgot to mention that the revenge factor played into this for me as well. Denver was PISSED last week losing to Atlanta at home.

Thanks for the info Jibba. I immediately put a significant bet on the Denver ML at -245 as soon as you posted.

I was scared at halftime, but then Atlanta ate a 2nd half poz load.

No problem. I also had pretty significant money (at least for my BR and considering I don't typically put more than 1 or maybe 2 units on NBA games). Mine was all on -5/-5.5 so I was definitely sweating it out as well. Great second half though.
