Default Seinfeld and cameo roles?

The sport characters that appears in various Seinfeld episodes (notably the baseball guys), are they the real thing or actors?

I'm from Europe so I couldn't recognize a baseball or football (star) player even if my life depended on it.

Keith Hernandez played himself. I can't think of any others off the top of head that were on the show.

The Keith Hernandez was on it.
Steinbrenner is played by Larry David, I think.
I don't recall the players George gave batting tips to, But I think they were real yankees.

Jeter and Bernie Williams and Buck Showalter were in the episode when George stops having sex and becomes a genius. Danny Tartabel (spelling sux, sorry) is in the episode when George is chasing down someone who cut him off in traffic.

A lot of Yankees...

Derek Jeter - batting practice with George
Bernie Williams - batting practice with George
Paul O'Neill - had to hit two home runs for the sick kid

thread-jack warning:

I'd like to catch the episode again that has Marista Hagarty (sp) (from Law and Order SVU) as Jerry's girlfriend.

Anyone know the title?

Keith Hernandez as himself, that's some pretty impressive acting by him, I think. Has he taken the OJ route from sports to acting?

Steibrenner is indeed (not played but) voiced by Larry David.

As for Larry David, I got all seasons recently and look at 2-3 episodes before going to sleep, and Larry appears here and there. Some other voice jobs which I don't remember right now, but he's absolutley superb as Frank Constanzas lawyer, wearing a cape! Perhaps the single most funny Seinfeld moment is when he approaches (in the cape!) the girl about to jump from the Brooklyn Bridge; "who are you?"; "I'm Frank Costanzas lawyer!".
