I'm really not worried about the cold callers - I see donk plays like this all the time - I'm really only worried about the OR here. I think this is really only a question of how tight I think his range is with this raise. The fact that he's raising behind two limpers is kind of worrying, but unless he's doing it with QQ+ it's an easy shove. I'll take an overlay flip against AK here all day everyday.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I'm actually less concerned with the original raiser than I am with MP2. [/ QUOTE ] The only one I would really be concerned about is the initial raiser. At low buy-ins people call huge raises with garbage all the time, but they don't raise themselves nearly as often. Basically our opponents typically play backwards such that their range of hands with which they call a large raise > range of hands with which they raise themselves. [/ QUOTE ] I agree with you about the callers after the first as they think they are getting good odds for the hand. Maybe its just me, but I've come across lots of cold callers who do so with AA and KK trying to build the pot. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah I agree AA/KK could be in his range too if he isn't any good, but so could AJ.KQ,KJ,1010,99,88, etc. |

I flat call. If you hit your set you'll be scooping a big pot. On a scary flop with heavy betting you can get away from this hand and still have a healthy enough stack to play ABC SnG poker.

[ QUOTE ]
Don't raise allin here. If you get called, which you probably will with this many people in, you're likely a slight favorite or way behind. Call since you getting the pot odds to hit trips. If the jack doesn't come, you should get away from this hand. [/ QUOTE ] This is fine if you are closing the action, you may not get to see a flop here, and after you call here you are giving odds to UTG and UTG+1 to call behind with ATC which may crack your set if you hit it. I think shoving here and taking a flip with this overlay is better. |
