Is it ok for more than one user to play the same multi tbl tourny, or dbl shootout, from the same IP address. I know of a lot of guys that do it and they are proven, reputable and legitimate online players that all live together.

In this situation do you really think the people in the house will like draw straws to see who will play the big sunday multis?

You guys realize he's not asking if its ok for one person to play multiple accounts in the same tournament, right?

He's asking if its ok for two different people who live in the same house and therefore have the same ip address to play in the same tournament. For example if I were upstairs playing in a tourney and my friend were downstairs playing in the same tourney.

I for one see nothing wrong with it as long as there is no collusion going on. However, I'm noit sure if it's possible at many sites because of safeguards...and I do kinda appreciate the safeguarding attempt. I know this cause during the WCOOP my internet connection blew out and I went over my friend's house to play it. Unfortunately he was playing the same tounrey so I tried to play it downstairs on a laptop while he played it upstairs but I couldn't because I had the same ip address as him and the software wouldn't let me. I had to find a different friend.

Whoops, I read the OP wrong. On most sites it's probably okay. I've played several UB STTs with friends on the same IP without issue.
