Default ps millions and weird payout

Hey All,
I'm wondering why, in the pokerstars million dollar sunday tourney on 12/10, wds2004 won 35 grand more for 3rd place than 2nd place won?

Under PS rules, they play it out after the chop for $20K or something for 1st, and he probably came in 3rd, but was in 2nd when they chopped.

They probably played it out for TLB points and any remaining prize money with him finishing 3rd as the result.

When there were 4 players left, they made a deal with WDS being the leader at that point.

Then, they played for the remaining 30k, where WDS went out in 3rd and Mrrain won, taking his part of the deal and the remaining 30k.
