Hand1: I 3bet this, then check call river if capped.
Hand2: Check call river.

1) I don't mind just calling down here since there are 2 straights possible and I'm not sure he has enough worse hands to 3 bet since you'll have to calldown a cap and he usually won't cap without a better hand.

2) Gotta call getting 9.5 to 1 as 2 pair will play like this often enough.

Hand one. Call.

Hand two. Call.

I think your going to be ahead on both hands often enough to justify calling to see a showdown.

I also think that if you call down in both situations, you will just sleep better at night. I might be leaking some bets, because I call too often in these situations, but at the same time, I get to see how they got there, and I don't have second thoughts about whether or not I should have called.

You'd be surprised how often you win these hands when getting something like 10:1. Sometimes they really have nothing and try some fancy bluff. This happened to me the other day, I was worried I was beat because I 3 bet the turn and he raised my river lead...but I called anyway. His ace highcard did not stand. I don't think I've ever folded a set. Two pair only after extreme action before me, like a bet and a raise from passive players on a scary board.
