Default 5/10 - Tough decision with a set?

Villain is c0pacetik, a 36/16/2.8 according to my stats. He is regular at 1k and seems good, and is aggressive enough that decisions can be tough against him.

A lot of times I would raise 77 in the SB because some dude posted, there's a BIG fish who limped, and to get out the good player in the BB. But the poster was on a small stack.

BB=villain, CO is the huge fish.

Effective stacks 215bb

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

MP ($249.47)
CO ($1092.25)
Button ($448)
Hero ($3158)
BB ($2158.75)
UTG ($1674)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. MP posts a blind of $10. Hero posts a blind of $5.
1 fold, MP (poster) checks, CO calls $10, Button calls $10, Hero (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($50) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players)
Hero bets $45, BB calls $45, MP folds, CO calls $45, Button folds.

Turn: ($185) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets $180, BB raises to $500, CO folds, Hero calls $320.

River: ($1185) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $500, Hero ???

jim, 200bb deep in a limped pot? i don't think that is so hot. i do think a riv c/r bluff is hot though, his hadn looks like j9 a lot and i dunno how he can call a push.

Simple. He decides I don't have the flush - that's how he can call.

3bet the turn, as played fold the river. Look at that value bet on the river by him what can you beat? K-10 only?

His play isn't really consistent with a flush. J9 is double gutted on the flop, and TT is also a worry, though not KK since it almost cetainly raises pre. Does KT wait for a "safe" turn to raise? His play is also consistent with 87dd. I guess what I'm saying is that this is a tough decision, but his small bet on the river makes me inclined to call. It's ugly, and I understand not 3betting the turn. I think you played this ok.
