i used to work at ocean's 11 casino in oceanside california and the $500's are purple there. but the $100's are white will maybe 20% black instead of all black.

[/ QUOTE ]

In California, white chips are standard for $100

In Nevada it's black

[/ QUOTE ]

Except in Sahara's tournament where they seem to like the California colors. Green is T25, white is T100, black is T500, and red is T1000. And of course the chips aren't labeled so it's a pretty common mistake for some poor n00b to grab two black chips and toss 'em in saying "raise" thinking they're raising from 50 to 200 whereas they actually just made it T1000 to go.

I think I was in that game, too. Friday night, right? Was the $500 chip guy drinking Singapore slings and the guy next to
him chain-chugging Manhattans, and did that Manhattan guy celebrate for about 25 minutes after successfully bluffing the purple chip guy off of QQ with 88?

standard chip colors FOR VEGAS

$1-white
$2-blue, seems to vary
$5-red
$25-green
$100-black
$500-purple
$1000-yellow

[/ QUOTE ]

FYP.

Yes, these are the Vegas standards, and it's important for it to *be* a standard within vegas, to prevent angle shooters from slipping a different denomination into a stack.

In Los Angeles, chip denominations are of a different set of colors:

Orange: 50 cents
Blue: $1
Green: $2
Dark Red-ish: $3
Yellow: $5
Purple: $25
White: $100

If I am not mistaken, Black is $500, but am uncertain there. Saw Larry Flynt in the big game at the Hustler last night, and I thought I saw racks of dark green with orange trim, but didn't get too close and am not sure the denomination.
