Oh man, I was the worst. Between ages 16 and 19 I had 10 speeding tickets and was arrested once for it. So many close calls to wrecking I can't even count. Haven't had a ticket in forever though, and while I still drive fairly fast, I don't street race anymore.

How did your parents not take your license away? I got 2 tickets in high school, one for making an illegal left turn, and the other for failure to yield to a pedestrian, both of which were complete [censored], and I still never hear the end of it.

I got kicked off their insurance (that's how they found out about my record), then I just drove without insurance for a year or so. They never questioned it, they just wouldn't let me drive their car anymore. The better question is why the state let me keep my license.

Oh, and if you've never done it, street racing can be a big adrenaline rush. Combine that with the teenage immortality belief and you can see why so many people do it.

Hella lucky. My brother did something almost the same. Racing, went around a corner, went off the road at about 90, flipped multiple times through a thick row of trees, landed on his roof in somebody's driveway about 20 feet from his house. Car obviously totaled. He had some scratches from the windshield and bruises from the seatbelt. The cop I guess felt sorry for him and didn't even give him a ticket. The roof was crushed in such a way that any other passenger would've been killed almost certainly. No ticket, no injuries, one wrecked 2500 dollar car.

But you got him beat!
