Default NL50: I made my set on the turn, but he made his everything else

Pokerroom NL50, 100BB stacks. Villain is loose and medium aggressive, something like 40/10/2/100 hands (going from memory here). From a previous session, I have a note that says 'likes to c/r.'

I open pfr TT for 4BB from CO, folded to him who calls in the BB.

Flop is Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Pot is 9BB. He checks, I bet 7BB, he calls.

Turn is the T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Pot is 23BB. He checks...

Now there's a ton of stuff he could have hit there, but I can't really get away from a raise. He also could have one of a bajillion draws. I'm not sure if he would pay off with a crappy pair on such a scary turn. Is it ever wise to practice pot control with a set?

I think a check is fine here if he likes to c/r. If you make a FH on the river and he has a straight or set you are getting his stack.

I also like to check behind.

If you do not fill up on the river, I still think about calling a small bet from villan. If you do, well then ship it holla.

wiht your read, I check behind and see if I fill up. If he checks again, I'll strongly consider checking behind on river as well. The pot is decent sized, and a check/raise will force you to either fold a set or make a crying call. Neither looks very good.
I call river bets up to PSB unless river card is a K or diamond.

I think a check behind here is a solid play. The only action you will get from betting here will be if villain holds a hand that has you beat or the 9d,Kd, or Ad. If read him as a checkraiser than this is definately a spot he'd like to try to make that move. If you check behind here and he's holding a made flush or he rivers a flush and you hit your full house than you are going to get a whole lot more action than if you make your move on the turn. Check it, holla.

Def check behind, IMHO. If you fill up you're golden, but practicing some pot control while you don't know where you stand is good here.
