Default Forum Project: How much are you paying for...

Just wondering how much everyone here is paying for hosting and CMS setup etc.

I have been thinking of offering these kind of services to the forum at a break even cost for me and just wondering if its something that would be worthwhile for me to look into.

Sorry if this has been covered in another thread but I havn't really been following the forum project as much as I should be =(.

Let me know what the deal is please...

I have seen $1 hosting at
http://www.internetforall.com/1hosting.html

your own go daddy domain and a host for $20 a year? seems ideal
I wonder if it is legit and reliable

I like HostMySite.com. It runs $2.95/month with a free domain. I think there's a set-up fee. The support has been excellent.

Just to add that its only $5.99 if you're in USA or Canada.

If you're outside that use (for a UK example) 1and1.co.uk which will sell to you but its a bit more expensive.

For the project, we need to be at lots of different hosts so that our links to each other's sites aren't penalized.

As to your question...I'm paying a bit under $100/year at 1&1 for their business package. With 2 TB/month transfer, I don't expect I'll need to upgrade anytime soon :-)

Just a quick question, I signed up for hostgators $10.99 a month plan. Did you guys choose the upgraded package strictly for storage/bandwidth, or is there something else I should know about? Thanks.

I've read that Microsoft Live is offering free domain names, hosting, email addresses, etc. It's their most basic package, but it doesn't sound like a bad place to begin.

I've used several web hosts, and love my current one - http://www.axishost.com. The support is beyond incredible. Ask for Tina.

For $6 a month you can get quite a lot with the starter package. Even unlimited # of domains.

I use godaddy for my domain hosting (probably not the cheapest, but I've had them forever and don't want to transfer over 10 domains).
