i do hate people that "talk about" sushi. i don't really distinguish it from any other delicious ethnic food.

OH, YOU'RE GOING TO MR SUSHI FOR LUNCH? I'M SO JEALOUS...

i want smash their goddamn noses. to them i guess it's like fondue or some other gay event food. they don't react the same way to thai, indian, etc.

All:

I've given sushi a fair shake. I've eaten it on both coasts and a lot of places in between. I've yet to find sushi I enjoy.

At this point, I doubt very seriously I'll ever give it another go. The 10-15 times I've tried it, I hated it. Nothing fun about sitting there pissed off at having spent $40 on a plate of sushi you can't choke down.

No problem at all with that. Anyone who serious cares what other people don't and do like to eat is an idiot.

I posted this in a thread, but I've had "good" sushi, and to this day my favorite sushi is from my local ShopRite that I can get two big rolls for under $15.

I unfortunately live in Baltimore. There are great pho places in the DC area.

I now hate Emeril too. I can only imagine what he put in it.

Punkass,

Did you ever go to Kawasaki for sushi before it got shut down? How about XS?

When I went to school, kawasake had a small place on campus. They had $5 Friday night all you can eat specials where they just bring plates of sushi until you were full, or they ran out of things. Usually they would run out of good things, and start giving you mackeral. Us being college guys, we still ate that up and then went home trying not to puke.

I've been to Kawasaki on Charles street a couple times. Me and 3 others got their big sushi boat and it filled everyone. Lots of good sushi on there. Soft-shell crab was there and the star piece.

Never been to XS.

[/ QUOTE ]I'm insanely jealous.
