Re: NL600$ Turn play with marginal holding that has outs
against a passive opponent I check this and then my action depends upon the size of his bet, if he bets.

Re: NL600$ Turn play with marginal holding that has outs
dont reraise this preflop against a loose passive opponent unless you like large pots oop with underpairs.
bet more on flop, its monotone and you want him to play straightforwardly. turn is obvi check, he's not going anywhere and he's not betting with worse. |

Re: NL600$ Turn play with marginal holding that has outs
Well he seemed to call with a lot of trash and I wondered if I can bet the turn for value cause he will often call with overcards Ah,Kh and If I bet the turn the pot at the river will be bigger and If I hit OSED or set its easier to get him all in. If he would fold a 6 or an 8 it would be a great result.
Preflop I raised because I had a good image and expect him to fold frequently right away and often against my flop conti bet if it comes A X X etc.. Also I feel really comfortable to play big pots against players of superior skill. |

Re: NL600$ Turn play with marginal holding that has outs
Yea you should be comfortable with bigger pots against bad opponents, but pocket 5's is not the kind of hand you want to do it with preflop. Almost NEVER will you know where you stand after the flop, unless you hit a set. and fish like to call. Also you're oop which sucks and makes things worse.
With a hand like this you should aim to get the money in later, when you're confident and wellinformed about your hand. Not preflop, when you dont know anything. |

I am German and mixed up some vocabulary there. I meant inferior and not superior ^^
