I don't pull for conferences, I pull for teams:
Florida - alma mater FSU - grew up rooting for them, still do when they're not playing UF South Florida- I grew up a few miles from the campus Georgia Tech - friends go there, clients go there, their cheers are neat Wake Forest - almost went to law school there, and who could root against the Cinderella of the BCS? Auburn - pretty awesome gameday experience, alma mater of Charles Barkley, I like the colors NC State - my mom's first husband was an assistant under Lou Holtz. Miami is probably the only college whose teams I'd like to see disbanded, but I do feel a little schadenfreude when Georgia, Duke, and UCF lose.

if you live in the south (i do)...youre often told (not so subtly), that there is only ONE conference that even plays football and that every other conference should disband, get on their knees and beg for mercy when they are in contest with the MIGHTY SEC!

PSU's first 7 years were fine. 6 of the last 7 have not been so great (or 5.5, as 9-4 is sort of on the cusp). They only have 2 league titles which is a bit surprising, but OTOH they've turned in some good seasons. The thing holding them back is falling apart late in 97/98/99, when they had very good teams. Lately they've been very mediocre, however. Going 5-9 against OSU and 3-9 against Michigan isn't helping the overall image.

[/ QUOTE ] I've said it before it happened and my opinion has never changed....joining the big10 was bad for Penn St football.
