Default 88 top set , relatively deep

NL600 6 max

XX (MP) 601$
Hero (CO) 1350$
Villain (button) 935$

Villain is 20/15, plays quite solid

Hero is dealt 8h 8c

XX raises to 21$, Hero calls, Villain calls.

Flop comes

8s 6d 5c (72$)

XX checks, Hero bets 60$, Villain calls, XX folds.

turn 3d (192$)

Hero ? villain has about 854$ left.
He has been 3 betting with AK and his bigs pairs pf, so i think his range is 77,99 or TT.. maybe jacks but don't think so. Also possible but less probable, a lower set or a straight.

What is your line here?

bet pot, fold to a push? I think combo draw seems most likely here. 67 etc.

correction and reasoning, please.

my reasoning: he wouldn't sp smaller set on flop (too many cards could kill his action on the turn -- or beat him). JJ, 99, 77 don't push. stack size makes it okay to call a push? do we think we're ahead?

??

Well, I would never fold, but I call too much and I'm trying to get better. Permission to lambaste and constructivly criticize.

Yes I am aware and I would be happy to call an all-in, myself. but if he pushes, what does he push with? combo draw that just picked up a flush draw, maybe? obviosuly, all that would worry me was 79 (or 47).

I read these threads to improve and when I read them, I see a lot of people making big laydowns that I don't make. I thought this might be one of those situations......... What would it be: $650 more to win $1250 if you're behind?

Please explain what you think he pushes with. A flopped nut straight would be a perfect chance to smooth call with position and a rainbow board.

obviously though, I meant don't fold to a push. Be happy if he pushes, and if he did flop the nuts, pay that man his money.
