If you did them all, you'd still come out ahead, but you make more money doing just 9-12.

How do you come out ahead putting $16 down ($1 each) on a bet that you'll end up with $11?

Obviously, the most +EV betting would be to only place bets on 10 or 11.

I was simply making the point that if you place a single bet on any single number 8 - 13, you would be getting +EV action. 3-7 and 14-18 are -EV bets.

I do not understand how the 9-12 range is relevant because it illustrates neither of these points.
