Ok, sorry, I define it as somebody who is particularly grumpy or unfriendly, tight with money, makes a big deal out of small things, etc.

Most of the elder O8 players i've encountered are far far far from tight.

The ascribe to the "Check and call" poker school.

For those of you that didn't know, Check/Call poker is the wave of the future, or so you'd think.

I think the simplest definition of "nit" would be "someone I don't like playing with". I don't mind gamboolers, I don't mind overly boisterous, I don't mind tight, and I don't mind quiet. I don't like folks who are unfriendly, who call the floor every 4th hand, who demand setups when they haven't won a hand in 15 minutes, who berate the dealer or who when a new dealer sits in the box says outloud "oh *bleep* this dealer again--I'll be back in 30 minutes" and disappear. Nits.

Can we mark this as an official definition?

Boy, after my next birthday, I'm gonna have to start doing some of that stuff.

I mean, I do have a stereotype to live up to.
