1/2 live - stupid small blind - First NL Post
No read on villain in this hand, except that he has been there less than an hour and is up 100ish. I'd probably know more if I was paying attention. Fairly typical table. A few very poor LAGs, the big blind is a very tight TAG. I have a tight image.
Stack sizes: Hero ~$300 Villain (MP1) ~$200 Avg. Stack ~$200 Pre-flop: (10 players) Hero is SB with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Button calls, Hero calls, BB checks. Is this call horrible? Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($16, 8 players) Hero bets $15, BB folds, UTG calls, 2 folds, MP1 raises to $50, 2 folds, Hero calls $35, UTG folds. I call here intending to raise pretty much any non-diamond turn. Turn: Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($131, 2 players) Hero checks, MP1 bets $50, Hero raises All-in... |

Re: 1/2 live - stupid small blind - First NL Post
I really don't like completing with a hand this weak.
Whilst I understand live poker is boring and it often compels people to play looser, I think completing the SB is very -EV. If the pot was raised, I like postflop. I prefer not taking a chance like this in an unraised pot (and on a board where you'll dislike a fair few turn cards), I'd probably shove the flop. |

Re: 1/2 live - stupid small blind - First NL Post
I've often heard people say things in NL like "Getting 5:1, you can play any two." What is the real any two number? Is there such a thing? I was getting 15:1.
What turn cards do you dislike besides diamond, Ace and Eight? I guess that is about 1/3rd of the cards. |
