Just saw For Your Consideration
Seeing his movies always gets me into a huge Christopher Guest mood so I also rewatched This is Spinal Tap and Best in Show.
Being the amature screenwriter that I am, these viewings got me wondering how this "mockumentry" style would work for a movie on poker? We all know that most poker shows/movies these days are unrealistic and almost absurd. I really think a mockumentry could create some hysterical characters (like half the people on this board for example) and plots that culminate in the end with a major tourney. Am I completely off base here or could this work? |

Re: Just saw For Your Consideration
wow, that sound like it might be perfect in the right hands. if he or any of his crew knows anything about poker, they really should give it a shot. i cant stand dog shows, but I loved Best in Show, so it wouldn't only appeal to the poker audience.

Re: Just saw For Your Consideration
Wow, you could probably really do something funny. But, I think the audience would be kinda limited. But man, could you do some characters. The degenerate gamblers, the on-line nerdy types, the over spending baller-type, etc.
Do it! |

Don't forget about the token hot female poker player. (Hello, Parker Posey!)
Any other aspiring screenwriters out there? Feel free to PM me and maybe we can bounce some ideas back and forth and come up with a treatment. |
