Villain (CO) has been fairly foolish, IMO. I've seen him play weak hands (K7o, for example) a couple of times OOP, AND has shown down 55 twice - after heavy pressure.

11th-14th barely get more than the buy-in back, $60. Final table starts getting interesting pay-outs (1st is $1800, 8-10 get $120. Not bad in between).

I actually think preflop is more interesting here. On the flop, once we got that far the way we did, we're not getting away from the hand, and pushing is certainly right.

But preflop seems more interesting.

BB is all in preflop for 340. MP limps and a deep-stacked very loose player calls, and then a semi-short on an 8 BB stack pushes before we act.

Is it worth isolating here? We're still left with over 9000 chips if we don't win at showdown and this pot isn't even 1/4 of our stack so it's not like we're 100% committed by getting involved preflop. Additionally, since it's going to be a protected pot, most of the times someone else bets a flop with overcards it's going to mean we're behind and can fold the flop.

Meh, I dunno. Pushing is obviously fine, I just hate to get involved in big pots that will be potentially against one of the few people who can actually bust me when I have a big stack nearing the final table.

I agree that it's possible that maybe not pushing would be a good line normally.


The issue here is the read on this player. Watch him play for the hour before, he was a trainwreck. He would routinely limp anything preflop, and routinely overpushed pot post flop with hands as bad as ace high.

Knowing that he's that awful, does that complicate your analysis at all? If you just call planning to play a small pot, and the flop comes as it does, he could just as likely have A3 as AA. (He actually pushed Ace high on an KTx flop and got called by a worse hand to arrive at most of the chip stack he has now. Actually, I think the BB all in in this hand was the genius that did that). Doesn't that make it pretty hard to fold to whatever retarded bet he makes?
