Pacific Poker doesn\'t allow a raise here
Texas Hold'em NL Tournament - Blinds 25/50
Hero is on BB holding J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] with 3000 in chips UTG goes all-in for 74 chips UTG+1 (with 3000 chips) calls MP1-5,CO,BUTTON,SB all fold. Hero ...? Pacific's software only offers hero the option to either fold or call. Not possible to raise. Support's reply to my e-mail: [ QUOTE ] I investigated said Hand, in which you had Pocket Jacks and as you mention, would have eventually lost to Trip Aces. Sorry, I fail to see what exactly was wrong with this hand. As you mention in your email, you were the BB and the next player bet All In $74, less than the minimum required to constitute a standard Raise, consequently all following players had the option to either Call or Fold and then the Flop came down and a new betting round began. This is what the Hand History shows happened. You mention that a serious Bug stopped this from happening, however you did not explain the nature of what was wrong. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Pacific Poker doesn\'t allow a raise here
if the raise isnt at least half of a legal raise (so in this case, legal raise is to 100 (50 on top), his raise is to 74 (24 on top).) if the raise were to 25, they action still plays on. however, the raise is illegal, and hence cuffs the betting action to call/fold
that help? |

Re: Pacific Poker doesn\'t allow a raise here
i dont believe op even had a chance to act on his hand yet, though.
if that is indeed the case, then this would be moot as his blind is live. |

Re: Pacific Poker doesn\'t allow a raise here
finally got a decent reply:
[ QUOTE ] In regards to Hand ID #86479045, it is evident that you was on the Big Blind ($50) and the player "olli2727" was 'under the Gun' went all-in for $74, which is less than the minimum raise. Since this is less than half the bet, the following must take place: Any of the players who have not acted can do whatever they want and the small and large blinds can take any action they want. As mentioned the all-in of "olli2727" should not have capped the betting round, and as you was on the Big Blind you should have been given the option to raise this amount. As this Hand was in a Tournament and the blinds do not count as 'action' you should have been allowed to raise any amount you wished. *Please note that if this had been on a Ring Game/Cash Table, the Blinds/Antes are considered as action and you would have only be able to call.* Kimmo, this error on the game has now been passed on to our software developers and I would like to thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Re: Pacific Poker doesn\'t allow a raise here
I remenber when I started Poker, I played limit HE there. If I recall corectly, in a ring game you could raise prf, everyone calls, then on the turn the SB goes all in for less than half a bet and no one could raise. Free card for everybody.
A small all in bet should not reopen the betting (I think in Prima or Crypto it does, wich is terrible) but to cap the betting right away doesn't make any sens either. Well that's Pacific! |

Re: Pacific Poker doesn\'t allow a raise here
yes, a small allin bet should not REOPEN the betting.
but for those who have yet to act, should be a moot point. i loved how pacific determined that in a tournament, the blinds are "live." but in a cash game, the blinds are "dead." (but only dead of someone raises less than...if however someone raises standard amount, then cash game blinds are now also live.) how they pulled that outta their arses is beyond me. yea, welcome to the wonderful world of pacific. |

Re: Pacific Poker doesn\'t allow a raise here
Yeah, I hate bad software.
Although this rule could have been implemented worse. Here's a hand history from PitbullPoker, where they failed to consider all-in/min raises at all: UTG calls ( 1000 ) Villian raises ( 4000 ) many folds... Cutoff calls ( 4000 ) Small blind folds Hero (BB) calls ( 4000 ) UTG raises ( 4929 ) [All-In] Villian raises ( 12313 ) Cutoff folds Hero (BB) folds Now that just sucks. |
