AJ, TPTK on drawy board OOp
stacks are $200, Villain is about 25/15 in 20 hands or so, so yay.
2 folds, Hero bets $7 with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Button calls, SB calls, BB folds. Flop 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] sb checks, Hero bets $20, Button calls, SB folds Turn 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero checks, Button bets $45, Hero? If I push, how often does a 9 or a club draw call? Pair+9? If I call, what's the river plan? Should I fold? Seems weak. Should I bet instead? If I do, does a semi-bluff push often? |

Re: AJ, TPTK on drawy board OOp
I don't like pushing too much. I don't think a 9 calls that often, maybe a 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]x[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I don't really see too many hands that call a shove (maybe J9) that we beat.
So, I would probably call turn and either block/fold river or c/c small bet, c/f to a big one. I don't mind betting this turn often either. |

Re: AJ, TPTK on drawy board OOp
With so little info on villain this is tricky. How often have you been C-betting? That IMO is a very strange flop to slowplay w/ 2 other people still in the hand, so I'm tempted to skew villain's range away from sets, 2 pair, and overpairs, but I could be wrong. I know you only played 20 hands w/ villain, but I think this comes down to his calling range preflop, and his flop tendancies. So many hands kill the action for sets, TJ, Q9s, 97s, that against a thinking opponent I think those are less likely than J9+, T9, JcXc, overs w/ clubs. If you were ahead, the turn was obv a great card, leaving you to call 45 to see a pot of 108, with 128 behind in what would be a pot of 153. I think the combo draws would have a hard time calling a push(they'd be incorrect to do so at least) for 281:128 pot odds with a 47:13 against draw (for example 9T). Tricky spot, just some ideas.

[/ QUOTE ] I agree with you about villain's range (sets/straights/2pair unlikely), the question is how to maximize value from that range. |
