i could have just easily called the river instead of going broke but i was so confident that this guy had QQ or JJ based on the pf action and his checks. when board pairs aces i think i'm ahead cause he probably only could have called my pf reraise (which wasn't big enough even though he would've called anyway) with exactly AK (with case A's and K's) QQ or JJ

I mean you have to have THE NUT READ to do this, but his line follows a weak A so I don't know where you got the whole QQ idea. I've done this before, but it requires a villain I've had history with and a good chance he'd call w/ something like QQ, which probably isn't the case here.
