I give the human 5 seconds, at best, to end it, then he's toast. All the technique in the world isn't going to stop a determined charging chimp who is able to rip your arms off with any of its 4 limbs once one of them gets any kind of grip. He'll need some really lucky strike like a crushed throat on closing, or a fortuitous broken neck when they lock. Either way it will be quick.

[ QUOTE ]
In a true effort the human would file down his teeth (in the same manner chimps do) [/ QUOTE ] cimp teeth are much bigger than human teeth. [ QUOTE ] BUT, practically the human should simply have small claws attached to his fingers and in his mouth. [/ QUOTE ] if the human could use a tool it would take a gun into the ring, the question is Human V chimp- not human plus tools. |

Now I'm curious. WTF makes a chimp so strong? Some sort of super muscle fibers? [/ QUOTE ] The question you should be asking yourself is rather, why are humans so weak? |

This is like that other thread where somehow people thought a UFC champ could kill an angry 2000lb saltwater croc. A chimp would annihilate any human, if only because of how quickly the human body goes into shock when presented with extreme pain. [/ QUOTE ] I actually think someone argued that UFC champ > elephant |

Heh. [/ QUOTE ] I think the 100lb chimp is a different question entirely. Although chimps do kill other chimps for sport, we are not talking about a particularly furious chimp. I give the human about 30 seconds on average, with the chimp being possibly confused for some period of time. And it is possible the human could out muscle the chimp in some areas. Remember this is roughly a 100lb chimp to probably 250lb+ human. The kick to the open throat of the chimp (whose head is 4' off the ground) seems likely enough to me to give the human 25% chance. We must assume that the chimp has no experience with kicking animals like the human (which could pretend to be a chimp at first). Tigers are furious by instinct and have better claws and teeth. |

The best chance is probably some kind of choking maneuver, or perhaps somehow twisting/breaking an arm. |

samaritan,
What I'm wondering is how the hell are you supposed to get a chimp into a rear naked choke in the first place. |

The "rules" for this contest are extremly unfair and lopsided in favor of the chimp.
For a more balanced contest put the chimp and the human inside a one mile by one mile wilderness enclosure and see what hapens. Or even more realistically, put ten humans vs ten chimps in a larger wilderness enclosure. Anyone puting any money on the chimps? Any hypothetical fight involving a human disallowing tool use is the equivalent of disallowing a lion the use of his teeth or a viper the use of his venom... /Bjorn |
