Default Eurobet problems

Recently Eurobet/OnGame froze my poker account, then after a month finally closed (eliminated) it. Problem is, there was still nearly $5k in there. The purpose of this post is to find out what if anything I can do about it now.

Bit of a saga: first they (OnGame's Shoot-First-Ask-Questions-Later Security Department) froze my account on a charge of chip-dumping, which I challenged through the Eurobet poker manager, and was quickly cleared. 'Cos I've never done that. OnGame seems unaware that headsup poker (which I play exclusively) often by definition leads to one of two people either winning or losing lots of money. Duh! Anyway, I was duly cleared and my account unfrozen.

But it was frozen almost immediately again when I simply requested a $10k cashout. It remained that way for a month, during which they (Eurobet/OnGame -- I don't think even they always know who's who) demanded and I sent in various ID documentation. Finally -- and this to me the strangest part -- they closed the account but processed that $10k cashout, leaving around $5k still in there.

Of course during this whole process Eurobet/OnGame hardly ever let me know anything, and I have no idea on what grounds they closed it, except that they say I failed a "security check". Oh thanks! Way to let a guy defend himself.

Eurobet customer service is useless, and says there's nothing "more" they can do. Oh -- except they did give me the contact details for some gambling commission in the Channel Islands (i.e. offshore UK). Cute. Like after the inital account freeze when they suggested I might contact the government of Gibraltar about it. Which is about as close to saying "FU" as you can get, without actually saying it.

Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions as to how I might get the remaining $5k back. Is the Eurobet poker manager any good for this type of problem? Is there any OnGame authority I can approach directly?

(Actually I've been to Gibraltar and it's moderately interesting. Full of apes though, up there on the rock. Really!)

Meaning? Posting is in itself somehow good?

I browse the forums with interest, but have never had reason to post before.

To my mind there's more than enough static around, here and everywhere.

Meaning NOTHING like this ever happens to people who post here alot. People who post here alot are more likely to be upstanding poker players who are playing honestly.

People who come here and in their 1st post (and this happens alot) complain about getting ripped off by a poker site, are very likely cheating in one way or another.

Interesting theory: people who post here a lot are good honest people who therefore don't have problems with poker sites. (A variation on the bad-things-only-happen-to-bad-people idea.)

If only things worked that way. I know several upstanding high-stakes players who have had severe problems with OnGame sites, especially this past month. You haven't been following the Pokes threads? Or heard of weeks-long cashing out delays on FCP? And lots of other threads I've seen.

I'm just adding to this a problem I've personally had with Eurobet/OnGame. And I know of several other medium-high stakes Eurobet players who have had unexplained account freezes recently, with no obvious link to the recent Troubles in the States, or the network changes. I'm the only one I know who's had the account actually closed.

I didn't mean for it to be a sob story - I'm just laying out the facts as I know them, and looking for advice. Personally, I've found it quite helpful reading other players' posts on these kinds of problems -- even if they are sob stories!

That's how I knew to approach the Eurobet poker manager for example, on the original chip-dumping charge. Which it turns out is such a common problem for headups players using OnGame sites, they ought to simply insert it in their terms and conditions: You Will Be Charged With Chip-Dumping.

So: I don't expect sympathy. I don't anything really. I was just making a post, and seeing what response I got.

I'd strongly recommend you find out who is the responsible person (the one who finally decides whether you'll get your money back or not). Then send a picture of his children, if he has any, otherwise you can always try the old horsehead in the bed thing...

I did that to one of the PP owners, when I had lost with AA twice in a row (was beat by BB when I slowplayed them on Button, I lost two full stacks against his two small pairs). I know when I've been cheated! Anyway I got my money back (next session I won twice when I all-ined 72o against AA). Great game by the way...
