Here's what I got:

Thank you for your preference.

This is not a "bug", we decided to try this out, because delivering
hand histories to the customers was giving problems because observers
could establish a pattern of behavior at the tables in terms of betting and
standing, and we consider it unethical.

If you see it from our point of view you may see that at live casinos
customers may not have a history of their opponents or their own games.

This procedure is not definitive please be checking our software for
further upgrades regarding this matter.

If you require any further assistance, do not hesitate on contacting us
back, and we will be more than glad to help you.

Best regards,

Leonardo

Is this considered to be a "bug" or was the change intentional?

I contacted UB and their suggestion was to email them with a range of hands that you want the HH for, up to 500 hands at a time. I haven't done this so I don't know what format they will come in and I'm not sure if they'll be PokerTracker compatable, but this seems to be an easier solution than having to close and reopen the HH window every five hands.

I also have a thread at the Poker Tracker forums discussing this issue.

I got some HH sent from UB and they came in spreadsheet format that doesn't seem to be PT compatable. I've installed the old software so this isn't a problem anymore, but was trying to bring in some old hands. Anyone know of a way to use these "spreadsheets" or are they just garbage.

In another thread, someone simply said that if you copy the spreadsheet info to a txt file, it will import into PT...

Yeah save it as a txt file and it will work. This doesn't solve the problem of UB taking days to email it. Also when i did this they sent me a tournament summary from some $1.1 sit and go played by someone else...

I tried saving as a .txt file, but it didn't work. Did you do anything special when converting it? Did anything have to be removed? The .xls files that they sent me have stuff that is different from the HH that comes up when you are playing live.

When you email them just request .txt format and then they import fine.

I got an e-mail yesterday that they will be having a new update that will allow 100 hands in the hh window instead of the 5 we have now. The new update will also make it impossible to datamine though from what they said.
