Default 1/2 value bet this river?

Any advice or criticism is welcome on this hand. My main question is should I be value betting this river when its checked to me? Both blinds seems pretty loose passive over small samples, 27/4/.6 and 28/7/.7, respectively.

Value check.

Looks like SB is getting ready to chicken call with T9/98. And if he was semi bluffing the turn with 8x there's no value in the bet unless either one has 87.

Check it, I don't like a bet here with 2 players to act. You will get called by worse hands but you could get popped by a straight or trips and any hand with a 9 beats you. You say they are both loose passive but their stats are more indicative of weak tight, no?

Yes, you must value bet here as it gives them one last chance to fold the best hand.

What hands check this river that calls a flop raise and then leads and/or calls the turn. I guess I'm confused by the way the hand played out and am not sure about my river play.

well from the way this is played, it is very possible that SB is holding a 9 ofcourse, but id put him on a flush draw personally, and the bb holding a gutshot... but since they got a cheap view of the flop, id prob check the river..

The SB play here is very odd... I get the feeling he was a little nervous about the board pairing on the end and is just looking to check/call.. possibly with something like 89 or A9 of spades.
In this situation it's probably more correct to fold than not to fold but both the blinds sure appear weak on the river so I would no doubt make a bet here and fold to a reraise.

Sorry... I meant check, not fold...
