Sorry if this is the wrong forumn but it seems like alot of the guys who post in here are very smart when it comes to this sorta stuff. So I am getting a new computer today and I'm wondering what programs/steps do i need to take to make it completely safe. My old computer has lots of virus's and I know I don't have it firewalled. The reason I'm so concerned is that I've heard alot of stories recently about people getting there accounts hacked etc. etc. so any help would great.
Also is there any risk in letting my buddy who lives next door use my internet connection through a wireless router? |

[/ QUOTE ] ack wireless? i am not sure about that, but if it was land based u don't even need a virus protector if you're going through a router and you never d/l suspicious things and u never give out ur IP. i haven't had anti virus/window firewall for 6 years or so and i have never had a virus. the router itself acts as a firewall. windows firewall is gay. |
