Default $60 - am I way over the top with this?

This guy was pretty tight. I doubt he would limp with a hand here, and hope id shove.

I don't like seeing a flop with this type of hand, and lose 400 chips becuase I miss it. But if this is too much, then I guess I have no choice.

Thoughts?

I think you can accomplish the same thing with a raise to 600. Unless the dude is a calling station, which isn't your read.

FYI if he was a calling station I'd probably check and bet any flop if checked to. Calling stations just want to see flops, let them have that, and they go away nicely a lot of the time.

WTF? Cmon, dude, this is pointless. Just see a flop and go from there.

Ya I agree with Schwza here. Checking isn't awful here, but shoving is like adding two hundred free chips. Yes this hand can hit a lot of flops, but 10bb's deep it doesn't really matter.

i wouldn't say way over the top. usually i will let SB do this a time or 2 before shoving just to make sure that he is completing an acceptably wide range. but in general i'm with schwza on this one.

Your stack is okay to risk this especially against the big stack. If you didn't have 3 other stacks that were lower than you, than it might be a better move, but still, you're not desperate.

Given his read of the player (tight): I actually like this play for two reasons:

1) It shows to the rest of the table you aren't going to give up your BB easily

2) It makes the SB think you're somewhat maniacal thus he'll likely just fold his future blinds to you.

A standard raise would prob end with the same result but going over the top accomplishes more in my mind.
