Dealing with Limp / Re Raisers
First off i have no proper hand history as i am having PT database issues at the moment.
Game: 9 handed, 1/2 LHE. Hero is on BTN with AKo. UTG+1 limps, UTG+2 limps, folded to me and i raise, both blinds call, UTG+1 RE RAISES, UTG+2 calls, I call, both blinds call. (14SB) Flop: A J J giving me Top 2 pair K kicker. UTG+1 bets, UTG+2 folds, Hero???? So any time i see a villain limp re raise its been an attempt to "slow play" AA or KK. What are your thoughts/experiences playing against limp re raisers? Is the above hand a call down or is there any other way to play it? |

Re: Dealing with Limp / Re Raisers
My experience is also that a limp-reraise is basically always AA/KK.
You're up against 1 AA combo and 3 KK combo's for that, which means you're ahead more often than behind. I call this down. You could raise here, but that will slow villain down when he's behind and you don't want that. |

Re: Dealing with Limp / Re Raisers
It depends on the player, I've seen AA, KK and AKs limp re-raised at tight tables by various players. I've also seen garbage limp/re-raised.
I would call this down especially given fabadam's analysis, groan when he flips over AA at the river and make a note. |

Oh, you probably wanted more than that. I have seen pairs as low as 99 LRR-ed, as well as LRR-ed total garbage from LAGtards. But against an unknown I always, always assume AA or KK until proven otherwise. Thus, from the other fine analysis in this thread, you have yourself a calldown. Or so it seems from here. |

Call it down.

Re: Dealing with Limp / Re Raisers
I see people do this with such garbage that I think calling down is pretty much mandatory. I think you're good often enough that folding is going to be wrong.

Call/Call/Call. On to the next hand.

Re: Dealing with Limp / Re Raisers
Last night I got limp-capped by someone holding ATo. It's not always AA or KK.
Raise the flop and go into calldown mode if he makes it three bets, or calls and donks the turn. |

Re: Dealing with Limp / Re Raisers
Limp/Re-Raised are AA or KK maybe a little over 1/3 of the time. Could be slightly higher in the micros. Here's an analysis by Jake (the Snake) of what the limp/reraise really means.
Limp/Re-Raise Analysis My experience is that this analysis is pretty close. |
