Final Table- Just out of the money
Hello,
following situation: It´s the final table of a fixed limit MTT. The first 6 places are paid. 7 players left. Me and one other player are heavily shortstacked. So its just whom of us busts first. Blinds are 1200/2400, I have 4300 and my "opponent" 4200 left. Now whats the right strategy? hoping he busts or acting? The problem was that always when I was in the BB the SB took advantage of my situation and raised any 2 cards, so I had a tough decision to make when holding A4o. What to do? defending means going broke or being saved- but I only can sneak into 6th place since the other stacks are too big. Thanks for answering. |

Re: Final Table- Just out of the money
We need positions for the two players relative to where the blinds currently are to even start trying to figure it out.

Re: Final Table- Just out of the money
play to win. Pick up a hand make astand who cares about going broke on the bubble. Give yourself a chance to get a bigger piece of the pie. Ideal spot to get your chips in would be on other short stacks bb. But if you get AX hit and hope.

This is an awful post without knowing stack sizes, and payouts.

Re: Final Table- Just out of the money
Even though more information is needed here, if the SB has been raising your BB with any 2 cards your ahead of his range with A4o. It's gamble time! You might not get a better opportunity to double up and get ahead of the other short stack. Although playing for 6th is not something I advocate.

Re: Final Table- Just out of the money
remember, its Limit
I can´t go All-In...thats the problem I guess. I have to make a move on him if I miss the flop . He´s got enough chips to simply continue |

Re: Final Table- Just out of the money
payout structure is meh.
Now HERE in THIS situation - IF YOU ARE PLAYING TO GET INTO THE MONEY - you can fold since the other SS will be in BB next hand and he's shorter than you are by 2k. A4o is still plenty good to take to the felt if you want to try and make a run at the 1st spot especially if raiser shown a tendency to be loose. |

Re: Final Table- Just out of the money
Pick a spot, if you aren't willing to go to the felt in a bb v sb situation w/ an ace and shortstacked you shouldn't be playing MTT's. Play for 1st and 1st only. Who cares what the other SS's stack is.
