Poker Tiles scrabble like game

Anyone tried the Poker Tiles game? It looks like it might be a lot of fun, but want to get an opinion before bringing home another poker related item. I'm mostly interested in how fun it would be for family and friends who don't play any poker.

The principle behind the game is good. The scoring table, as published, sucks. It makes WAY too much depend on the possession of wild cards.

what if you took out the wild tile, would it be more fun? Also, the game board looks kinda useless... i wonder if you could just play it on the table like dominoes

I think a step in the right direction would be to do something like Canasta where 'natural' melds are worth considerably more than 'wilds' -- at a minimum, no BONUS for a wild.
