Default Min raised in the big blind

when I am playing in my local 1/2 no limit game at our local casino I find my self in this position quite frequently. someone will straddle or raise the minimum and it will be folded around or there will be one or two callers. what do you do with a hand like K J or a weak ace or any easily dominated hand..

I would fold. A Minraise is begging for action or hoping to hit a monster and extract the most possible. So fold preflop or look at a flop cheaply and dont stay or bluf if you dont hit!

So you are in the BB, there are few callers and it's $2 to you?

I call with a ton of trash and try to flop big. If you don't flop big (2 pr or better) get out. You're in a casino - you only get to play like 30 hands/hr, and the players are bad.

Good points.

Just remember in the blinds you should be flopping big. One pair is not big. Be cautious with one pair and you can call alot of minraises and be profitable.

I'm surprised noone has pointed out that with a straddle you should be playing an even wider number of hands, and possibly raising most Aces and Kings.

Yea I'd imagine calling would be good with gazillion-to-1 odds generally. But also if you flop just top pair, you should generally take the check/fold line :]

Playing live I always try to get in cheap and flop big. I'm calling with loads of stuff in the position you mentioned and only raising premiums.
