I really liked the movie. I thought the second half was really well done. A lot of twists and turns that were very unexpected. I think the bo

For those of you who whine about the poker, you don't know what you are talking about. I hate when ppl quip about some of the smallest thing, "Bond should have raised here! Blah blah!" But even the "If bond was a good player, he would have done....A, B,C" is not a good arguement because even though he didn't do A,B,C it made sense. It all made sense. If you have problems with the poker, then you are just looking to criticize IMO.

Saw it last night. Thought it was decent, enjoyed the first scene with that nigerian velociraptor. The second half was a bit slow though.

Thought it was ok, nothing special. I really think the whole end of the movie could have been cut out, (spoiler in white):
I didn't think they had to explain where Bond's women issues or whatever originated, they could have ended it after bloody-eye-guy died.

The novel ended with the line "The job is done and the bitch is dead."

I realy liked DC as Bond. Really good choice.

I didn't think Vesper was all that hot - pretty, not hot though.

That ASton Martin was hot though.

As for being a prequel, is thee a hard time frame in the Bond series? Trying to piece it together since this one takes place in current time.

All,

Just saw this. I agree w/ most of the positive reviews here, including the flaws they mentioned.

The biggest one being the fact that it just dragged on a little too long and the transition through the twist could have been doing a lot snappier imo.

But overall, definitely enjoyed it.

One question. Why exactly do you think she locked herself in the cage? I can think of a couple of explanations, but they still don't totally make sense.

I just got back from watching Casino Royale - I thought it was a very entertaining movie, lots of action. The chase scene (running) at the beginning was my favorite part of the movie. Craig will be a great Bond, although a bit less "proper" than the previous characters.

I liked the lead and much of the cast, and the darker tone. I think the early chase scenes were decent but not great (kind of went on and on after a point). But I thought the plot was disconnected, undeveoped jibberish. the only theme they really took hold of and developed in the spy work aspect of the plot was to put everything on the poker fad. having done a pretty bad job with that, it's kind of hard to find much to like about the film. and when the bad guy got killed and then the movie went on for over another half hour with a new story I grew to hate it. (approx $60M disappeared from the table in the big game, right?)
