I really like Arsenals game....The Gunners. Man U's Red Devils is sick too. In the NBA I have always liked the Pistons, Sonics, Blazers, BULLETS, Celtics(which is a cool timeless name), and recently the Grizzles. NFL, Giants are a tight name, as is the Raiders. I'm not a big fan of Bullets or Grizzlies, though. Marshall is Thundering Herd. The only obvious omission was the Arkansas Razorbacks IMO. I also like the Chargers, but that could just be blatant homerism.

Dodgers - originally the Brookyln Trolly-Dodgers Also hard not to dig Brooklyn's team name before that...the Bridegrooms Padres Brewers Tar Heels Utes 49ers 76ers Also, Least cool names because they are trying too hard and are still sucky: Astros Heat Magic Jazz Timberwolves Blue Jackets Thrashers FWIW - The Pistons were originally in Ft. Wayne. And the Roughriders aren't even the coolest name in their league. Edmonton Eskimos and Toronto Argonuts are both WAY better.

I know this is a little off topic, but there's some great HS nicknames too. Here's the list just for Illinois: IHSA Nicknames
Antioch Sequiots Canton Little Giants Chillicothe Grey Ghosts Roycemore Griffins Also, there's a town called Pekin that claims to be on the exact opposite side of the world from Beijing, and they used to be called the Chinks... they're the Dragons now. My favorite is Catlin HS: THE CATLIN SALT FORK STORM!
