Vizio makes a very low end TV. Its all about the viewer though, some aren't very concerned and it may not matter.

I however, am busy trying to hustle an employee to get me an employee discount on a Sony XBR2. We'll see how that goes.

See I think after reading the specs on Vizio it seems like a decent midgrade HDtv. Obviously a Samsung DLP or Sony Bravia will blow it out of the water, but its picture can't be that bad can it? Are the color or darkness levels way off?

You think you saw chaos during the ps3 lines, wait till you turn on the news on Friday (because it gets worse each year) and see a store opening its doors, and people falling over each other racing to get some cheap ass toaster or dvd player.

How about still cameras? Only good black friday ads I've seen have been for the cheap ones, the point and shoots. I'm looking for a digital SLR.

All,

Does anyone know the answer to my question re: Best Buy? Am I likely to get one of those two plasmas if I show up at 4am and get the "ticket" and wait for an hour 'til they open at 5am? Or are people gonna be camped out in line all night for these things?

El D,

I think it varies on location. 3 years ago, I waited outside a BB in NJ and got there at 5:30 AM. The store opened at 7 and there were a good 100 people ahead of me by the doors.

There were tickets handed out for very few items. Only about 3 of the 15 "ticketed" items actually had tickets given out for them. About an hour before the store opened they would call out, something like "Who's here for the Canon camera" and people would raise their hand and they'd give out the tickets.

I would scout out the store a few days before to see where your item is located. If the ticket isnt given out for your item be prepared to run to get your hands on one. At least you'll know what part of the store you are running to.

If you are a baller (which you are) I would keep a 20 or $50 bill on hand and wave it in front of an employee to try and bribe him to get something for you and ring you up. He can go into the back or know exactly where they are and can grab it for you.

Good luck. I did it that one time, and vowed never to do it again.

Boot,

Thanks for the info. $1399 at Amazon looks pretty hot to me now.

All,

FYI, I found this info re: the BestBuy "7-hour specials"

http://www.bestbuy.com/site//olspage...;type=category

"Prior to opening, a line of customers will form outside the store. Starting at 4 A.M. with the front of the line, employees will hand out tickets to customers for these limited quantity items. The tickets, limited to 1 ticket per customer per each item, grant the customer the ability to buy the limited-quantity item between 5 A.M. and noon on Friday."

Best Buy says minimum 5 Panasonic 42" Plasmas and 12 Westinghouse 42" LCDs per store.

All,

FYI, BestBuy will also be selling the White Chicks DVD starring Shawn and Marlon Wayans for only $2.99 from 5am to noon on Friday.
