2-5NlL, top set SB.
Villain is pretty active and slightly loose, but has been catching a lot of good starting hands. He usually raises to $20 or $25 with AK. He has $750. I cover.
One limper, Villain makes it $30 to go for the first time. Folded to button who calls. I call in the SB with 99, limper folds. I check dark. Flop comes 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Villain bets $50. Button folds and I check-raise to $200. Villain calls quickly. Turn is a non-club 4. How much to bet? He has around $500 left. Pot is $500. |

Push. You can't really check-raise him again, and it makes you sick to watch him check behind and a club hits

Re: 2-5NlL, top set SB.
Push looks good.
I suppose you could bet like 350 if you want, and the rest on the river, if you think he'll call 350, but not 500. That denies him implied odds and maybe lets him call with a worse hand. I doubt he finds a fold for $150 on the river unless he whiffed his draw. The only problem with $350 is... well.. $350 looks like a value bet. |

Re: 2-5NlL, top set SB.
As you played it, push turn, which seems natural and hope he calls with overpair.
But, why play it this way? If this guy has AA or KK, this is about the only way he gets off the hook. I assume you wanted to give button chance to get nuts before deciding what to do, so you checked flop. what i would do: 1. Bet flop, call raise; c/r turn 2. c/c flop (given pf raiser bets and button folds. c/r turn. |

I check dark. [/ QUOTE ] This is so transparent when you check dark and then want all the money in. |
