The Hilltop is fine; I've stayed there a number of times.

Yeah, the Hilltop is fine; it's an "upscale" motel.

If you like B&B style places Foxtrail is closer and it's in an old NE saltbox house. It's quaint, less expensive than the Hilltopwith soft beds and creaky floors. I happen to prefer it. Not all the rooms have showers (others only have tubs) so make sure you ask. Phone # is 860 535 2721.

If you're cheap like me there's a Holiday Inn (I think, or one of those chains) in Groton and the owner can be haggled with if you're staying multiple nights. The Hilltop looked great but was out of our price range when I was there.

Two Trees is full too? Yeah, there is a Holiday Inn or one of those big chain hotels about 3 exits away that offers shuttle service. Can't remember the name of it, though.

Well the Hilltop is definitely nicer than you need. If you have a car and you won't be drinking while playing (a big assumption, I agree) the drive to Groton is pretty quick at 5am.

its complete bs that the hilltop is an upscale hotel. They claim it is but holiday inn's are definitely nicer. Its more like an econo lodge type place. The only thing that is upscale is the price. The only problem is the hotels in Groton or another place are a bit further away. So if you find adequate transport id stay in one of those places.
